In The Prelude Suite artists Liz Akamatsu and Piero Fenci, demonstrate and celebrate the delicate evolutionary balance of interdependence between paired plants and their respective pollinators—here represented by six integral systems: water lilies with warming beetles, figs engulfing fig wasps, Traveller’s palm pollinated by lemurs, cactus and baobob trees pollinated by bats, and orchids on Madagascar pollinated by a sphinx moth sporting a nine-inch proboscis
